DORINE Paper mache vase

The Dorine Vase is handmade from eco-friendly papier-mâché and features a chalky, lime-like texture. Its attractive rounded profile and versatile neutral color make it an easy addition to side consoles and bookcases, giving it character and style. Made from recycled newspaper, they are completely natural and sustainable. Newspaper is first mixed with water, then chalk and tree sap crystals are added to turn the substance into a clay-like material. The dough is kneaded into chapatier-like shapes, then rolled and molded to form the sculptural objects we love so much. There is no cooking, no energy used, and the process is completely environmentally friendly. Each piece has subtle differences in finish, which is part of the appeal of handmade. Porous in nature, papier-mâché should not be exposed to liquids.
