When to choose a large rug?
In a spacious living room, an open-concept space or a dining room seating eight or more, a large size lets all the furniture sit on the rug. Measure the furniture zone, then leave about 12 to 24 in of floor visible around it.

How do I know if my rug is big enough?
Outline it on the floor with painter’s tape. The front legs of every seat should rest on the rug, and dining chairs should stay on it when pulled out.
