Polypropylene Rugs
Polypropylene Rugs
A polypropylene rug contains this synthetic fibre, alone or in a blend. The collection includes patterned and quieter designs for living rooms, dining rooms and other spaces. Some are intended for outdoor use, but the fibre alone does not make a rug suitable outdoors: always check the product page. Maison Olive is in Beloeil, Quebec, and offers this selection online across Canada.
How to choose a polypropylene rug
Start with the room, then compare fibre content, texture and care directions.
- Use: for a patio or balcony, choose only a model explicitly listed for outdoor use.
- Size: in a living room, the front legs of the seating should rest on the rug. Beneath a table, leave room for pulled-out chairs.
- Composition and care: check whether other fibres are included and follow the directions for the specific model.
Frequently asked questions
Can every polypropylene rug be used outdoors?
No. Use a rug on a patio or balcony only when its product page specifically recommends outdoor use.
What size works in a living room?
An 8 × 10 ft or 9 × 12 ft rug is a good starting point for a living room; a smaller rug may suit a compact seating area. Measure the area and check the actual dimensions.
How should I care for this type of rug?
Vacuuming and stain treatment also depend on construction. Follow the care instructions for the individual rug.
