8 × 10 ft: bring the sofa and armchairs together

This size can suit a living room where the rug sits beneath the front legs of the main seating. Check its width against your sofa and the space on either side.

9 × 12 ft: give your furniture more room

A size around 9 × 12 ft can accommodate more furniture and connect the seating area. It may work well with a large sofa or sectional, depending on the room dimensions.

10 × 14 ft and larger: define a generous space

These sizes can define a seating area in a large living room or open-plan space. Always measure your furniture and walkways; a larger rug is not automatically the best choice.

Should a living room rug go under the sofa?

Placing the front legs of your sofa and armchairs on the rug helps connect the furniture visually. In a larger room, the rug may accommodate all the seating. The right arrangement depends on your space.

Are the listed sizes exact?

The 8 × 10 ft category groups similar dimensions. Depending on the model, rugs measuring 7 ft 3 in, 7 ft 6 in or 7 ft 9 in wide can belong to this family. Check the exact measurements shown on each card before choosing.

Which size does the displayed price refer to?

The price corresponds to the size shown on the card. When you choose a size or budget, the selection and prices update to match eligible variants. The link opens the product with that size selected.

Should I add a rug pad?

A rug pad compatible with your flooring can improve comfort and help keep the rug in place. Choose its dimensions and thickness according to the rug and the manufacturer's recommendations.
